Profile

As a Research and Development Manager of Spirit AeroSystems’ Future Factory Technologies team, Mark Haynes leads a team of engineers that seek to identify cutting edge technologies for aerospace quality control and industrialize them into the Spirit Production System. Working closely with industry partners and universities, the teams develop quality control solutions that are an integral part of production build and validation of complex aerostructures. His research focus is autonomous metrology solutions specializing in non-contact inspection technologies, computer vision, geometrical spatial analysis, and automated control systems. Mark Haynes received his PhD in Industrial Engineering at K-State University. His doctoral research experience in optimization, mathematical modeling, and statistical analysis is used on a regular basis in his work at Spirit.
