John is the Manager of the Technology Development Engineering at Delta Air Lines/Delta TechOps. Under his leadership, his team is charged with the development and application of new technologies that benefit the maintenance and engineering of Delta’s mainline fleet of over 900 aircraft. Notable examples include the development of automated and machine learning inspections via camera-based technologies, integrated vehicle health monitoring (IVHM) sensors for aircraft structural systems, extended reality for aircraft maintenance, and the introduction of aircraft maintenance robotics to Delta’s TechOps. In his time at Delta, John has led a number of innovation campaigns throughout the operation. He played a critical role in developing a disinfection technology strategy, in partnership with Delta’s Global Cleanliness organization, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and serves as a focal for the assessment aircraft related sustainability technologies to aid in Delta’s long term sustainability goals.Sessions
